Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer-songwriter whose tales of young heartache achieved widespread recognition in the beginning of the 20th century. Swift began to develop an interest in music as a child and quickly progressed from playing in children's shows before making her first appearance front of an audience. She was age 11 when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game and next year, she picked up the guitar and began to write songs. Swift was inspired by artists in country music such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and now the Chicks in order to write original music that expressed the apathy she experienced at the age of 13. At the age of 13, Swift's parents decided to sell their property in Pennsylvania in order to relocate towards Hendersonville Tennessee so she could spend more time to wooing labels from the country in nearby Nashville.
